I thought about breast augmentation for years before I did it, going round in circles: was it the right choice, how would I pick a size, was I being vain or finally doing something for myself. When I committed, I had the surgery abroad, in Thailand, which piled on a whole extra layer of questions I struggled to get honest answers to.
What I couldn’t find was anyone talking to me like a real person, clear about the choices of implants, size, and placement, straight about the risks instead of glossing over them, and realistic about how the days and weeks afterwards actually feel. It was all either a clinic selling to me or an unverifiable forum thread.
Claire Ashley Beauty is my attempt to be that person for the next woman deciding. A consultant plastic surgeon vets the clinical content; everything else is the lived version. I’m not a doctor, I’ve simply had it done, and I’d rather you felt informed and unpressured, clear-eyed about the rewards and the risks both.
