Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
We are committed to accurate, useful, and honest information about breast augmentation, including a frank account of the risks. This page explains how we work.
How articles are created
Articles are researched and written using authoritative sources, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the FDA, the NHS, and peer-reviewed research, which we cite at the foot of every article.
Medical review
Articles covering clinical topics are reviewed by a consultant plastic surgeon before publication. Reviewed articles display the reviewer’s name, credentials, and the date of review. Our current reviewer is Miss Charlotte Vane, MBBS, FRCS(Plast).
Honesty about risk and independence
We do not accept payment to recommend any clinic, surgeon, or destination, and we do not gloss over complications: implant risks such as capsular contracture, rupture, BIA-ALCL, and breast implant illness are covered plainly. Any future commercial relationships will be disclosed clearly.
Keeping content current
We review articles periodically and update them as guidance and evidence change. Each article shows its publication date and, where applicable, when it was last updated or reviewed.
Corrections
